Birthdays and Wedding Anniversaries
Upon request, the Lieutenant Governor sends greetings to current and former Saskatchewan residents celebrating special birthdays and wedding anniversaries. Birthday greetings are provided for 80 years or more at intervals of 5 years and every year beginning at the age of 100; wedding anniversary greetings are provided for anniversaries of 50 years or more at 5 year intervals and every year beginning at the 65th anniversary.
The Lieutenant Governor’s Office also forwards requests to the following officials: Her Majesty The Queen, the Governor General, the Prime Minister, the Premier, the Leader of the Opposition, Saskatchewan Members of Parliament, Saskatchewan Senators, and the Regina Mayor (for current and former Regina residents only).
To request a greeting, please submit the greeting request form at least two months prior to the celebration date. While we are pleased to accept requests with less than the required notice, we cannot guarantee that the messages will be provided by the celebration date.
Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II sends messages to Canadians who are 100 years and older and to couples who have been married for 60 years or more. To receive a wedding anniversary greeting from The Queen, please submit the greeting request form and forward a copy of a marriage certificate or a letter from a minister of religion. To receive a birthday greeting from The Queen, please submit the greeting request form and forward a copy of the birth certificate or the Old Age Security number.
