Lieutenant Governor's July 1 Garden Party Marks National Flag Anniversary

Regina, June 29, 2015…Her Honour the Honourable Vaughn Solomon Schofield will host the Lieutenant Governor’s Garden Party on July 1st from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Government House, 4607 Dewdney Avenue, Regina.
“We’ve got some fantastic activities planned to mark the 50th Anniversary of Canada’s flag.  I warmly invite everyone to join us at our magnificent Government House Edwardian Gardens to celebrate our nation’s birthday,” said Lieutenant Governor Solomon Schofield.  
The Garden Party is free of charge.  Festivities will begin at 1:00 pm with Dixieland Jazz from the Regina Riot, and at 2:15 pm, Rory Allen and his 11-piece band will perform.  There will be a fly past from 15-Wing at 2:30 pm during the singing of “O Canada”.  KAOS Dog sports will do two shows at 1:15 pm and 3:15 pm, and the Discovery Ranch therapeutic horses will be around all afternoon.  The event will also feature clowns, children’s activities, the Street Culture Kidz face-painters, and complimentary refreshments and snacks.  
Guests are invited to wear their red and white to celebrate the anniversary of our National Flag.  Some seating will be provided at the main stage but guests may wish to bring a lawn chair or blanket.  In the event of rain, festivities will be moved indoors.
