Lieutenant Governor’s Annual Tour of Northern Schools Returns
Their Honours Russ and Donna Mirasty visited five schools in northern Saskatchewan in the first week of October to present the Lieutenant Governor’s Awards of Excellence. This was the first time since 2019 that His Honour had been able to make this tour as the medal presentations were cancelled in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic.
The Northern Student Achievement Awards were established in 1989 by the Saskatchewan Ministry of Education. The Lieutenant Governor’s Award of Excellence recognizes one student at each grade level from grades 7 to 12. The award criteria include academic standing, school attendance, and involvement in cultural activities.
