Saskatchewan Residential School Memorial to be Dedicated on National Indigenous Peoples Day
You are invited to a dedication ceremony for the Saskatchewan Residential School Memorial on the grounds of Government House on Tuesday, June 21st from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.
The public is welcome to join Lt. Governor Russ Mirasty, Her Honour Donna Mirasty, Minister Don McMorris, Elders and other distinguished guests for a short ceremony to officially dedicate the Residential School Memorial and open it to the public.
The Memorial is composed of all natural elements including stone, wood and plants native to Saskatchewan. However, the Lt. Governor says the Memorial is more than its physical elements. It is also a place to learn and heal. The Memorial, like the plants included within its gardens, will grow and more elements will be added over time.
