Saskatchewan Order of Merit

Established in 1985, the Saskatchewan Order of Merit is a prestigious recognition of excellence, achievement and contributions to the social, cultural and economic well-being of the province and its residents.

The Order recognizes individuals who have made their mark in such areas as the arts, agriculture, business and industry, community leadership, professions, public service, research, and volunteer service. The Order of Merit takes precedence over all other provincial honours and awards.

Saskatchewan Volunteer Medal

Saskatchewan has one of the highest rates of volunteerism in Canada. By helping others, each volunteer makes daily life in our province better for everyone. Formal recognition of volunteers helps express the gratitude of the community, and also presents role models to the people of the province.

In 1995, on the occasion of Saskatchewan’s 90th anniversary, the Saskatchewan Volunteer Medal was established to help recognize the province’s volunteers.

Saskatchewan Protective Services Medal

Established in 2003, the Saskatchewan Protective Services Medal recognizes exemplary long service for individuals working in a direct capacity to protect people and/or property, and supervisory personnel in the public service sectors who ensure the safety, security, and protection of Saskatchewan citizens.
