Lieutenant Governor Mirasty Presides over Cabinet Swearing-in Ceremony

Lieutenant Governor Russ Mirasty signs Oath Book during Cabinet Swearing-in Ceremony at Government House in Regina, Saskatchewan on August 29, 2023.

This morning, August 29, 2023, at Government House in Regina, the Honourable Scott Moe, Premier of Saskatchewan, presented to His Honour, the Honourable Russ Mirasty, Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan, members of the Executive Council and Ministers-designate. All members of the Cabinet were congratulated by the Premier and the Lieutenant Governor. Those accepting new positions took required Oaths of Office and signed the Oath Book while His Honour observed. His Honour then witnessed the signatures in the Oath Book.

Our system of government is a constitutional monarchy and a parliamentary democracy. His Majesty King Charles III is King of Canada and Head of State. The Lieutenant Governor is the representative of The King in Saskatchewan. One of the Lieutenant Governor’s responsibilities is to preside over the swearing-in of the Premier, the Chief Justice of Saskatchewan, and cabinet ministers.
